So far, this is the only score I can manage, I can't even beat size 2, slide 2, and turtle 2, and I haven't gotten to one of those weird bottles in the corner of some levels, but I have practically given up
I have some end state screenshots in a comment below for no box runs if you want hints. Slide can be tricky and that's what all three of those levels have in common. And for slide 2, falling off into the water at the right point in a spell to complete it from the respawn point and finding places in the level that have the right space to do that in.
sequel to bee magic?
Neither the in-browser or downloaded version work for me.
I'm using Windows 10 Home v.22H2 and Firefox v.136.0.2 (64-bit). When launching in-browser it just gets stuck on a black screen.
When launching the downloaded exe it plays music but the screen only shows black with 1/4 of the screen being white. The attached image shows everything in the cmd prompt.
For the web version: could you try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox settings and see if that fixes the problem?
And what does the console say when you A) open up inspect element, B) go to the "console" tab, and C) reload the page?
Afraid I won't be able to give any more feedback, my PC restarted due to a power outage and now the web version works fine.
The game won't launch for me because of an error in linking shader in transmission
Can you give me A) the version of your operating system, B) the version of your browser, and C) what the error says exactly?
Windows 11 Version 23H2, use the download not in browser

Great Game!
INCREDIBLE SEQUEL!
Very fun mechanics (even if slide was making me insane for a while)
SPOILER FOR SOMETHING THAT DIDN'T WORK
I'm really surprised this didn't unlock some kind of weird overlapped/meta level
Ooh, didn't think of that. I thought maybe if I turned twice the ending would be upside down. The tube of light was nice though. Haven't found any secrets. Edit: I did try bee and goat and defog
Edit Edit: I did not try beating the game with just 2000 points and turn for victory to see if you get a low score ending. Imma try, brb.
Edit Edit Edit: 2000 points gets you rank turtle which runs from 0000 to 4999, dolphin starts at 5000.
RE: The thing that didn't work: I honestly didn't even think about that. But if I did and I decided to put more time into it, I probably would have made (rot 13) n fvatyr yriry gung lbh tb gb jurarire lbh gel gb ragre gjb yriryf ng bapr.
Are there any secrets to find that aren't the bottles?
Nope. If you’ve found all the bottles, you’ve found all the secrets.
did as good as i can (im so bad i didnt even get one of the medals XD)
Wow, masterpiece!
This is so incredibly clever!
Great game, good seaquel!
On a whim (I was mainly interested in seeing low ranks; you can finish the game with just 2000 points collected), I tried to minimize scores and at least ice 2 seems to be interesting.
Update: I've managed to finish ice 2 with a
10099 score without boxes, picking up the first star at 56 points. So close toDouble digits! On ice 2 I could only get down to 127 with no boxes. That's a great score!
Epic game, but it should come as a prequel to bee magic, so you can release the next one as aye magic so this series will be an advanced chess battle
As always, masterpiece.
Game runs slowly on brave/wayland/debian linux (although the rest of the games had no problems), so I had to run it on brave/windows. Linux sucks anyway, so i guess it's expected.
SPOLER
It was very interesting to try to open a note that opens a turn spell without using the "all" spell (I had already opened it at that time, but my stupid head at that time did not understand that squares with crosses mean LOL).
Casual Player New Run Scores
(Edit: I made some improvements, and I replied to this comment with screenshots of each level at each of these scores (or a slightly lesser one) if you need a hint. )
Favorite level rankings
(More fav) move 2, slide 2, slide 1, size 2, move 1, lily 1, ice 1, turtle 2, ice 2, lily 2, size 1, turtle 1 (Less fav)
To the developer:
Favorite part of the game was the no box challenge.
"Lily" like "lily pad" is typically spelled without a doubled "L".
General Hints:
I needed 11 boxes to start getting hard bottles, but that's probably my fault for not thinking hard enough (trying goat-note-tech for those in the know). The order I got the hard bottles was slide 2, then move 1, move 2, and slide 1. Unless there is some sort of slide chaining behavior I missed, slide 2 is the gatekeeper bottle.
On slide 2 you can do the ice + slide + 10 box to get the bottle. Inside there's a new mechanic that I don't find a good place for her
I haven't managed to get the slide 2 bottle with less than 11 boxes. I retried. If you have a less than 10 box solution, I am curious!
I can get to slide 1's secret with 12 boxes and no other secrets known...
this is the best I can do on the secrets
I got slide 1 before slide 2. Either can be your first secret, though slide 2's takes fewer boxes. (I had 15 before I bothered looking for secrets.)
Your scores were quite godly so I can see why.
I managed to get 1210 on ice 1 and 1220 on move 1 and 932 on size 1 with no boxes + no secrets so that is possible. I wonder if it is possible to optimize this further than that.
I've seen 952 on boxless size 1, no clue how (my best is 672)
I managed to get 912 no boxes no secrets by reordering when I get stars vs power ups. Not sure how to get above that, but I put the casual player disclaimer for a reason.
I got 1540 on slide 1
and now 1265 on turtle 2
spoiler warning:
I managed to get into and then out of the final square. I bet you could save another box.
you get both shells before any of the stars
I love that slide 1 solution. You can get the idea up to 1595 with 15 boxes if you try hard enough.
What is the T, F, A and M on the score board?
which secret was used for that solve
and the translation?
I managed to do ice 1 in 1282 with no secrets
And here are my end state screens for each level. Spoiler warning for puzzle solutions obviously.
No boxes, no secrets
Boxes, no secrets
Boxes and secrets
Great game and keeps with the spirit of Bee Magic despite the change in objective (min-maxing vs. win with restrictions).
It would be nice to have some clear indications of the “best” score for each level as something to aim for, i.e. the optimal score with n# boxes, or without using knowledge learned from the “messages in the bottles”, etc.
Even like an indication on the “leaderboards” people are posting would help. (How many boxes did they use for that score? Did they use “vanilla” powers only?)
Those optimal scores might not even be known, however, (as there’s so many tools available once the player gets into the end game) and I can see how pushing the barriers without a clear answer is preferable to others.
I added a list of box counts and secret spells used for my scores in my comment below, if that helps (although if you want to actually solve the puzzle yourself you shouldn't look at it). The problem is that the best scores aren't actually known (although I've seen a bunch of score posts and haven't seen any higher than the scores I posted).
Boxless, limited boxes, and no secret spells are also all reasonable things to optimize, but as far as I know no one's actually bothered except for boxless (I've seen some pretty good boxless scores, but likely still quite far from optimal).
yay :D
(i couldnt find a solution to this puzzle i think there might be a mechanic with slide im missing??)
spoiler warning!
slide the top row over a couple times, and then fill in the missing blocks by sliding the columns up from underneath.
Have you considered making a metroidvania game with this spell system? They would be a great fit.
In some sense, the original Bee Magic (and this game) was similar to a metroidvania, though a “true” metroidvania would feature a really big world to explore (I suppose that’s the main thing missing.)
I’m not sure if I’ll make another game in this style. My hope is that other people make games like this; I think there’s a lot of unexplored territory here.
I figure I should post this here in case people want to know what good scores look like.
Unoptimal scores I know of in this image (the parentheses are the score I got/have seen):
thanks!
How is it possible to get 1240 on lilly 1?
do you have all the secrets unlocked? how many do you have?
Zero :) I forgot about them when i was writing this comment. I'm now trying to get one
Now i got all four of them!
thank goodness there is only four, I have to keep revisiting earlier levels.
Because of @hygge 's post, I figure it's worth posting answers for top scores (these are "the highest i've seen", not the ones in image). Spoilers below. (It is both box count and the specific secret(s) that the score used, which is enough to trivially tie the solution for a lot of the levels.)

Thanks for the post! Got a lot of inspirations for improvements from your scores.
Also Lilly 2 (1680) and Turtle 2 (1360) are possible :D
Not sure if there are any other possible improvements
Nice! I feel like these scores are actually perfect.
Never mind. I just got 1488 in Slide 2.
Just got 1600 on Slide 2!
I think I found a bug. If I move up from this position, a lilypad will spawn inside a whirlpool and instantly move also moving the whirlpool.
Also seeing this. Felt like I got trolled!
Lilypad seems to trigger the behavior.
Turtle gets you across if you got stuck there!
Yeah, I already solved it, I'm not stuck, but it's still a bug and the dev still needs to fix it
Is now fixed.
No it's not
what version of the game are you playing on? And what browser version and os version are you using?
Yeah, it's fixed :)
I just got the pun. After Bee Magic for B we get Sea Magic for C
I opened the first secret in slide 1 and I have no idea what it means
oh no, I figured it out
turn is even worse
my brain is scrambled and my thoughts are frozen
What the new symbol means?
You can only take 5 actions. The new symbol is the action that doesn't make your character move. Depending on which secret you have found it might be quite difficult to activate, but the symbol does look like the action.
got 4 on turtle 1 and 1 on turtle 2
Making me a dolphin.
Edit,
with the power of boxes I easily improved those scores to 520 and 91, which isnt good, but at least its better
now Im a Mermaid ~~
i am done with this game
this was really fun
Wow that's very impressive, I thought getting to 16K was a challenge but 17K!?
I have 18719 and I've seen someone post a score higher than mine in one level (slide 1). It's hard to pull off high scores, but possible.
i finished the game with no boxes, got all the secret spells and got 11220 score.
while doing all of that i had such so much fun. C magic is truly an amazing successor to B magic, this game is A 13/13.
Really fun game, I enjoyed a lot the medal-score and the progression systems. Personally, I enjoyed this game's many-levels more-traditional-puzzle-like structure more than Bee Magic. It being multiple levels made it feel less daunting to me and I managed to get max rank as opposed to quitting Bee Magic after feeling somewhat overwhelmed.
another one! I'm so excited!
very well made. this also makes you do a little math here and there.
damm i did horribly on turtle 1
from 4 to 780 is crazy for me
Why does this remind me of tactical nexus
Anyways CBA
Huh. Can you let me know what version your browser and OS is?
im not sure. its a semi-old chromebook. so its google OS
Got 4 score on the turtle level. Fun sequel to Bee Magic so far
When the active respawn point is slid into a whirlpool, the tile vanishes but you still respawn there (on the whirlpool), which feels quite strange.
Oh, I forgot to elegantly handle that edge case. Though I’m not sure what “should” happen instead. (Originally, the game crashed because it got stuck in an infinite loop of respawning.)
I’ll think about this…
