I didn't even test it on Windows 7. I have a *really* old machine I could check if I have time. My guess is that your system doesn't natively support OpenGL 3.0 rendering and also doesn't support OpenGL 2.0 ES rendering. There's also a very real possibility that I'm not doing something correctly.
update: I forgot that it was upgraded to win 10, but it still doesn’t work on it despite having an OpenGL 3.0 driver. I’ll try debugging it further when I have time.
I'm just completely stuck on g+fire+size. I can't even figure out how to get to the left side of the screen to get size. I have all the other trophies except g+flower+flip, but this one is really confusing me.
well if you could get size the rest would be easy since the top left star is the hard part in literally every trophy in this game except the bush ones
i'd suggest just continue messing around, it shouldn't take too long to figure out. minor hint (rot13): chfuvat fbzrguvat fgvyy pbhagf nf n zbir sbe fcryyf, qrfcvgr ubj lbh qvqa'g zbir lbhefrys
This game is insanely fun, I have barely done any combos (1st run without Size, 2nd was a failed Key-Flip that turned into a Key-Flip-Flower where I didn't use Flower but couldn't manage not to pick it up, and 3rd was a Fire-Flower) but I still got my mind blown a lot. Also got the lever in trophy room but I don't have access to the left side yet so I'll have to figure out more.
On another note, idk why but the windows build isn't working for me, so I have to play on Web, which is fine but I feel like I should mention it.
it is possible to escape this situation without undo, but it requires a trick you probably haven't learned about yet and i'd recommend waiting to learn it until after your first completion of the game. if you want a hint for that, though: (rot13): Ohfu vfa'g nf hfryrff nf vg zvtug frrz ng svefg tynapr.
you need to break the breakable block that connects to the bush area (down-right direction from the character), then lift yourself up on the gates in that area and walk to the star.
another hint below if you want it
to be able to activate the key spell while standing on the gate you need to move a piece of paper above the gate, so that when you stand on the gate moving upwards makes the goat push the paper instead of actually moving up
Finally 100% G-Flip-Flower broke my brain for multiple days, this game is pretty simple and addictive at the start, but to 100% it, it's pretty hard. there's multiple techniques exclusive to this trophy you'll need to figure out, good luck to anyone going for it.

Anybody notice the breakable one-way walls at the credits scene? Does anybody know if it's possible to get there after completing the game? I've gotten past all of the Challenge Barriers (not 100%) and noticed that there is one more slot for a spell from the bottom of the screen. Is it just for spacing or is there another hidden spell?
Yes, thanks for posting this, I went and tried and I have gotten up there. I am not sure what it means though... Something something ocean symbolizes freedom. I have posted a picture below the gap, which you can use as a hint for how to do it if you want. It looks like you'd be able to get an even more interesting result if you could do it while flipped, but I do not think it is possible.
(also, to the dev: I encountered a weird bug while messing around with trying to do this in different ways, where it started going instantly to credits after entering the portal. Eventually it seemed to fix itself though.)
Probably not here. I might do them for a sequel, or maybe the third game in this series. I suppose I could add SUPER basic level importing support to this one.
My main concern is that importing a level into the game could trigger some obscure bug which crashes the game and/or ruins your save file. If I implement modding, l’ll probably design a “boot loader” which A) enables game modifications, B) allows you to clear your save file, and C) runs before the rest of the game does.
Even if created levels can't be saved/shared, being able to test out game mechanics and object interactions without the restraints of the puzzle-world would be an awesome feature.
I managed to reach the trophy area without picking up the accursed cancel spell, and then skip all the trophy gates in there. Wondering if that's an intended possible sequence break. Felt incredibly satisfying.
Don't ever undersell yourself on how well crafted this puzzle board is for 100% you should bee incredibly proud of this game
i got stuck trying to overuse [FLOWER] for G flower flip; got frustrated trying the wrong options, causing myself to spam the spell attempting to clear areas that would be thwarted
Fire Key and Flip being the bread&butter&(your choice) and all interacting with different sections of the map forms a very solid basis.
Flowers and Keyswitches interacting with Fire has a satisfying usage, midgame i found myself becoming an expert on pre-swapping and synchronizing and blocking keys before I really appreciated that I could just exit the ground with them
I think BUSH is a hilarious spell with how strong it is, but how not straightforward it is to get to. I enjoyed the couple of uses I got out of it, collecting it late at first and jumping right into no-BUSH trophies
I skipped size on my first run (to see what would happen basically) and got to experience it when clearing the left side trophies, not super easy to use due to the limited locations you can input the command, but satisfying to use on the left-side trophies, equally fun to explore using as G, just too abusable if it had a smaller input.
B as a convenience feature before the player notices the warp pad at the start / or hones in on their goals and just uses the restart map button. And the prank with the notes made me laugh
G was a fantastic game changer. Really pushing my understanding of the gameboard to its limit
The only thing that really threw me for a loop was walking directly onto notes when they had a clear space beside them, and the character was elevated
I think if the sequel / remake / combo of this game got a fancy art-style and camera, the player could better intuit that they're standing on-top of a block/wall, so they'll descend onto the note rather then push the note. The logic is consistent with pushing things in the way. (all it really did was stop me from pursing the wrong excavation and wrong methods for G flower flip, and led me to revisit the correct map sections to deduce the solution.)
Bee Magic was shorter then Baba or Stephen's but I genuinely think you crafted an equal. Its great to have a game like this to send to friends to test their interest on hard puzzles / sokobans without sending them a 60 hour game.
I'm definitely going to check out your other projects but the ones i've checked so far seem to be free, is there anywhere to support you or do you have plans to put donations up for Bee magic / plans to include this map in a sequel? that you sell maybe?
If you're trying to 100% it, I haven't figured that one out yet. If you're trying to get past that challenge barrier, I'd recommend the Key & Goat Challenge. I was able to do it and found it easiest. I'll look into your challenge though
Done! 100%! here is a review. if you don't know whats behind the switch, don't read the rest.
This puzzle game is amazing. I'm going to go in depth on every mechanic.
first of all, the fog of war is annoying. I know there is a spell to remove it, but it's strange i need to spend the first moves every game to remove it because there is no reason not to. my suggestion, remove the fog spell, make fog not regenerate when you restart. I do understand the importance of it being there on the first run, but it should be out by the second.
the notes are overall great and all of them have a purpose
the home spell is annoying, but its never something that prevents a solution and that feels nice.
key is awesome. its one of the three that can gain height and the short command list can add interesting elements to trying to prevent using it.
fire is cool, casting becomes very intuitive to cast after a couple of runs. fire and key are used a lot, because they are a prerequisite to the other spells until G
(flower and flip should be swapped on the home space/tile/hexagon to avoid confusion. I'm going in list order.)
flip is the first of the spells that feels really complicated, but the list of things it does is actually quite small; it flips gravity and it flips the controls. this is also the only spell I haven't memorized while playing because the act of using the spell changes 2/5 of the commands.
I am both grateful and disappointed that switching gravity mid-cast wasn't ever required, but i do hope it gets established upon if there is a sequel.
flower is strong but balanced. i am constantly surprised on how thorough the map design is to make flower cheese impossible. the note that says flowers keep gates closed is misleading to what i think its trying to teach you. I used flowers to close gates, not to keep them from opening.
size is perfect, don't change size.
bush is broken and useless at the same time. bush is so overpowered that including it in a trophy instantly makes it infinitely easier. it's fun in the G challenge but that is about it.
bee is a bit of a disappointment. it's nice as a QOL feature to quickly get all spells, but i feel like the switch puzzle could have been much better.
goat is cool and all of their challenges are HARD.
commands for fog, bee, and goat should remain on the side of the screen after reset.
if you didn't know, the trophies on the right are just easier versions of the ones on the left, so only 11 trophy runs are actually required. here is a short note about each one:
key + flower: easiest of all runs (besides bee)
fire + flip + bush: the main challenge is getting to bush. just goes to show how strong bush is.
fire + flower: hardest of the bottom row, should be swapped with key+flip.
fire + flip + size: utilizes the jazz note clue very well. i love size runs.
key + flip: too easy for where it is in the hub
key + fire: hardest of the non-goat puzzles. I love the restrictive uses of key.
bee: not necessary
goat + bush: the lack of flip makes bush less broken, but still broken
goat + flip + flower: OMG! it's so fu***** hard, but its the most rewarding I have ever felt in a puzzle game. the home tech is so brilliant.
goat + fire + size: I like this one. not much more to say
goat + key: note tech is cool, but its like the only requirement for these last two. if you got one, you likely got the other, but the top right star is better in goat + fire + size.
music is my least favorite aspect of this game. same for N Step Steve too. the tracks definitely have a style, but that style gives me a headache when I'm puzzling.
some questions for you dev, if i may
1. how do you design this type of multipurpose level?
2. did you design the spells around the level or vice-versa?
3. are all of the trophies intentional, or did some just happen to be possible so you included them?
thanks for reading. I wrote this on the shitty steam deck touch screen, so I put myself through hell writing this.
I do agree that bush is a "broken" spell that feels trivially easy. Maybe that could be justified as a way to give beginners an easy way to get a clear if it were slightly easier to reach, but people have said that the bush orb was too hard to get. Maybe I'll add a hint about that. Good point about the fog of war as well; I might add in a "disable fog" option in gameplay settings.
As for your questions:
1. how do you design this type of multipurpose level?
Mostly, lots of iteration, i.e. repeatedly changing and re-designing things until it's in a place I'm happy with. It's mostly a matter of putting in a lot of time, but it's also about having a lot of goals/constraints while also being willing to try and re-work a lot of things.
2. did you design the spells around the level or vice-versa?
It's hard to answer this question. I think a lot more tweaking/iteration went into the level design than the spells, so I guess it's a case of spells influencing the level? There are much fewer "levers to pull" (i.e. stuff that can be changed) in the spells than the level, so it makes sense to have the level adapt to the spells. 3. are all of the trophies intentional, or did some just happen to be possible so you included them?
Mostly, I just designed the level and figured out what trophies were possible. I suppose that the trophies also influenced the level design, especially once the set of "minimal trophies" were locked in.
your post is how i realized that you're just supposed to use bee to access the lever. I did it with small+flower to destroy the walls and access it, which was fun to figure out (i didn't even have access to bee at the time)
genuinely confused by fire+key feels like i'm missing something important i've done the ends of the trophy room i was just hoping to go back and polish off the earlier trophies to have the whole thing
you can very easily softlock yourself with that one, try restarting if you are stuck. assess your situation. a lot of things in this combo are irreversible.
i was missing something - and i was overcomplicating things, trying to use the 5box 2key and 0 swap, when all i needed to do was use the 1box 3key and i could freely use 1 swap.
was honestly trying stuff with fog of war etc
its incredible how each section of this map only gets used in specific combinations
i think that i need to use size to get in the walls on the left, and im using the rocks in order to connect the two sides of the map but i just cant figure it ou
I was looking for a route almost identical to yours, but I ended up finding a much much shorter one. If you push one of the message notes up to the breakable wall just above the hive are and drop the stone on there while it's in between blocks, you can clip very close to the star
Do note that on the right at the bush area there's a big open area, This is needed, because after you get up there the first time, you won't have the room to become small again in the main area, so you'll have to clear out that section on the right to become small again after setting up the rock at the top
I have beaten the game. as in I got the "you win" paper.
thankfuly I only had to do G+bush, as the G can push power orbs, including the cancel one. granted all you need is Bee+G+Size to get to the paper. but bush is needed to leave after you read it without undoing.
I've completed all of the trophies on the right side and the bottom left on the left but I'm banging my head against a wall trying to to do the final 5. I'm going for fire + flower currently, but I can't get the top left star. Am I missing something?
I have finally managed G + flip + flower and I do not understand how anyone would be able to do this without any hints, but it is utterly brilliant and I love it.
Okay that worked for the top left and top right, but now I'm stuck on the bottom right star. As far as I understand, the only way to reach it is to use the pluses in the central area with 7 boxes, but I for the life of me cannot see how that's possible. Unless I'm missing something, in either orientation, the blocks prevent usage of key to go up.
i have managed to somehow go and walk on top of the walls. (edit: it involves bush. also the bushclip is OP, it can litteraly solve puzzles fast) (edit2: i forgot to mention the bush has to be done near a wall, as well the bush acts like a wall and if you can walk on the bush, the game lets you walk on walls and also that box thingy with gravity)
for key and G -> look what happens when you interact with papers as G. there is an interaction you only need once in the game for this very trophy. (Edit: It seems I was wrong. You need the same interaction for G+fire+size. I honestly think it's easier to see it in G+key though)
also there is no flip+fire+G. do you mean flip flower G?

Fun game! It took me a bit to realize just how much you can burn with fire (felt stuck until i finally got fire/flower), but after that things were mostly smooth sailing. It was pretty cool being surprised by what Size does (i first used it on fire/flip/size), too.
It seems super surprising that G flip flower is even close to possible; I'll have to ponder that one for a while, I'm sure.
Also I got to the bottom trophy room note with G key, which is clearly the best combination to reach it with.

this game is very buggy
Are there any bugs you've encountered specifically? What system (and version of said system) are you on, how did you trigger the bug, etc.
it was a pun
You're pun wasn't to be. Yes, there are two puns in this pun. This wasn't a pun. But it was.
When I download it, it fails to run; windows 7 incompatible? Can play in browser just fine.

Why does the hexagon under the paper in the throphy room not appear sometimes?
And why is the hexagon randomly here
I don't think the hexagon under the paper was ever meant to be.

WHAT DID YOU DO???
Is there something specific you have to do to trigger the bug? What browser and browser version are you using?
Idk, a bee just appeared

trying to do Key-Goat, can someone give me a hint?
you need to break the breakable block that connects to the bush area (down-right direction from the character), then lift yourself up on the gates in that area and walk to the star.
another hint below if you want it
to be able to activate the key spell while standing on the gate you need to move a piece of paper above the gate, so that when you stand on the gate moving upwards makes the goat push the paper instead of actually moving up

You cannot move by your own accord in that area ;)

Probably not here. I might do them for a sequel, or maybe the third game in this series. I suppose I could add SUPER basic level importing support to this one.

3. are all of the trophies intentional, or did some just happen to be possible so you included them?
thanks for reading.
Thanks for taking the time to respond!
This is definitely one of my favorite puzzle games I have played recently, and I’m excited to see what you make next :)
your post is how i realized that you're just supposed to use bee to access the lever. I did it with small+flower to destroy the walls and access it, which was fun to figure out (i didn't even have access to bee at the time)
"Oh I can finish a run without picking up the blue ability" -me, clueless
genuinely confused by fire+key feels like i'm missing something important
i've done the ends of the trophy room i was just hoping to go back and polish off the earlier trophies to have the whole thing
you can very easily softlock yourself with that one, try restarting if you are stuck. assess your situation. a lot of things in this combo are irreversible.
i was missing something - and i was overcomplicating things, trying to use the 5box 2key and 0 swap, when all i needed to do was use the 1box 3key and i could freely use 1 swap.
was honestly trying stuff with fog of war etc
its incredible how each section of this map only gets used in specific combinations
Stuck on fire/flip/size, I cant seem to get the top right star. Is this a softlock or can someone give me a hint?
EDIT: I figured it out:

Stuck here on Key + Goat, I figure I have to use the paper in some way but i've been stuck forever. Any hints?
There was a wall you broke that you should not have broken.
If you push something, you'll be able to put an input in (for spells), but you won't actually move
i'm stuck at goat + fire + size :(
i think that i need to use size to get in the walls on the left, and im using the rocks in order to connect the two sides of the map but i just cant figure it ou
there is another block - besides the plus shaped one - with which you can use the size trick to get on the walls
i found a way anyways
That's brilliant. My solution was to carve a path of halfbushes with tiny fire

I have beaten the game. as in I got the "you win" paper.
thankfuly I only had to do G+bush, as the G can push power orbs, including the cancel one. granted all you need is Bee+G+Size to get to the paper. but bush is needed to leave after you read it without undoing.
key+fire is really boiling all of my bones away.
same
i'm long past key+fire now; i'm suffering G + flip + flower. flip flowers are my least favourite species of flower.
can u give me some hints for key+fire pls
i've been stuck on this for a bit now. I just can't see how to access the upper section of the map.
I've completed all of the trophies on the right side and the bottom left on the left but I'm banging my head against a wall trying to to do the final 5. I'm going for fire + flower currently, but I can't get the top left star. Am I missing something?
You can't let the boxes in the top left fall at all
Lbh pna ohea gur fjvgpuvat guvatf (rot13)
I'm so pround of myself that i can do G + Key by myself!
i wasnt able to :(
do you need help? I could give you a hint if you show me where did you stuck.

heavy end-game spoilers, rot13. What a fantastic game, idk why i even attempted this but it worked lol

6? I did it with 4. How would you even get 6 boxes in there?
I have finally managed G + flip + flower and I do not understand how anyone would be able to do this without any hints, but it is utterly brilliant and I love it.
i wish that you had all spells in the hub
you can bring any spells you like from the last run
I think they're talking about Flower and Bush.
can anyone help me with key flip?
i can do it but only by collecting flower and not using it, and i have no idea how not to.
Im working on that myself, stuck at the same place. Im thinking of trying the following:
Hfvat syvc gb olcnff gur 5 oybpxf ba gur gbc yrsg, gura hfvat gur cyhf oybpx ng gur irel gbc gb npprff gbc yrsg fgne.
Rot13 as usual.
Okay i finally figured it out, and man i feel dumb.
opposite, I've only gotten bottom left star
nvm, solved it I think
how did you get to the top left without collecting flower?
nvm found a way to be fliped near flower.
now i just have flip-flower-G
i have managed to somehow go and walk on top of the walls. (edit: it involves bush. also the bushclip is OP, it can litteraly solve puzzles fast) (edit2: i forgot to mention the bush has to be done near a wall, as well the bush acts like a wall and if you can walk on the bush, the game lets you walk on walls and also that box thingy with gravity)
that is intended don't worry. The interactions are gonna get way more complicated than that
bro has not done key-flower-flip yet
You can also get on top of walls with size or key. Have fun figuring that out
Im stuck on Flip + Flower + Goat and Key + Goat
Anyone have any hints or tips?
for key and G -> look what happens when you interact with papers as G. there is an interaction you only need once in the game for this very trophy. (Edit: It seems I was wrong. You need the same interaction for G+fire+size. I honestly think it's easier to see it in G+key though)
also there is no flip+fire+G. do you mean flip flower G?
I meant flip flower goat
Im already at this part
Key flower G is nothing?
if you want to get key goat (rot13):

Flip + Fire + G isn't required, but I solved it. I think the only solution uses Home in a clever way
i mean flip flower goat

That was great. I wasn't sure at first how it was going to play out but I really enjoyed that. Would love to see this in some kind of expanded format.
I've been thinking about making some sort of sequel. We'll see!
