General Hints: It is way, way easier to attack the trophies when you have a visual reference for the step shapes you can fit in an area. Here are the possible step patterns for flip (purple) and fire (red), regular and inverted. Lighter square is start, and darker square is finish. I also included the chain flip into fire.

Hint for Key-Flower and other lower left key trophies.

I got stuck getting started on some of these. Rot13(Yrnea ubj gb punva tngr pyvzof ol fgnegvat n jnyx va gur evtug cynpr fb gur xrl npgvingrf zhygvcyr gvzrf jura lbh arrq vg.) To read the hint, please copy and paste into an online Rot13 cipher decoder.

Hints for G-Flower-Flip. I hit a point in this puzzle where I stopped having fun and would have appreciated a few concrete “You are doing this right/wrong” because there are a lot of things that have to come together just so and it can be a while before you realize you have softlocked.

First hint, in plain text because it doesn't give anything away. If you are stuck on G-Flower-Flip, drop it for a bit and solve G-FIRE-FLIP instead. It is not one of the trophies, yet G-Fire-Flip presents the same conundrum as G-Flower-Flip with the benefit of being harder to softlock and having more possible solution variations. By taking away your ability to destroy scenery with flower and reducing the complexity to obtaining the single star you can't get as human-fire-flip, it puts focus and clarity on the single major problem.

To the developer, EpicPikaGuy:

Absolutely fantastic puzzle design. The different star directions and open puzzle field allows new players to compartmentalize on regions and bring previous victories forward unlike many "grindy" high-reset block pushers which feel more like chess plotting moves in advance. The only change I would suggest is modifying the trophies to require G-Fire-Flip before G-Flower-Flip. G-Flower-Flip is a major difficulty spike otherwise. See image.

i need help please key fire please how to get past the bush below the 2 gravity blocks

(1 edit)

Which bush exactly? There are a few choices! I posted the step shapes for fire in another comment. The third row is fire upright. You can't get that bush on the leftmost side of the map from the go back to trophy room nook below. You can see no upright fire shape fits.

If you are talking about the bush just upper left of the center star with two blocks sitting on it, you can't pass it. But you have already solved the hardest 2 parts of the puzzle if you have reached that nook before the tower of five blocks comes crashing down behind you. The solution is right there, just not through that bush.

Key fire was probably my favorite trophy overall for where I was in the learning process. It also took me a while, although I got hung up on two different steps.

if not through the bush, then HOW.

(1 edit)

You have to get on a wall with key.

If you want to know exactly which key gate it is, big spoilers, so maybe don't read: Rot13( Gur ybjre xrl tngr gung gbhpurf gur sne yrsg jnyy...)

i beat it without ever revisiting the level 1

That's it for the ending! And thanks for the kind words!

Puzzle game of the Year for me! Got stuck on the G+Flip+Flower for a while working out a way away from the final solution, where I brought one unintended rock to the place but reached a dead end not able to do another. Maybe this puzzle could be a lot more enjoyable to have an alternative solution by making just a little change.

Amazing brain teasing

amazing game! not fully done yet but i'm really amazed by how one level can be solved so many times!

works for me on win10  10.0.19045 Build 19045

doesnt work on my pc

What OS/version is your PC?

As far as I can tell, this is your graphics driver failing to compile the fragment shader. It *could* be an issue of your GL driver throwing an error when it encounters "precision mediump float;", which is there for GLES compatability but is supposed to do nothing with regular GL. I suppose it would be best to remove that line when not using GLES, but I don't know if that would fix your problem or not.

Any hints/advice for the last 3 challenges for goat? Specifically the top right star proves to be the challenge for me with all 3 of them, but any advice would be appreciated. Also I love this game! You rock at grid-based puzzlers which is a genre I am very abnormal about, eagerly awaiting its sequel.

Thanks for the kind words!
Here are some ROT13 hints:

One-hundred this game, I absolutely love it!

I had somehow similar feeling like with endgame puzzles of The Witness at the end of getting last trophies. Design of level is nicely replayable and i love all those little hints that teach mechanics, like with that "I'm not a pro" pro tip teaching about destructive flower and much more other methods to get there - really nice progression!

I hope to see more of those creative and well thought out puzzles! World 2 when? :D

(+2)

there’s going to be a sequel with a slightly different format, but it’ll have the same spell casting mechanics.

(+1)

Great! While playing I hoped to see some move-tight sequence, like casting two spells at the same time with correct setup which would be solution. Wonders what bee wizards are cooking right now...

I am currently trying to get Bush - Fire - Flip, but i can’t seem to get bush. Anybody help?

Incredible idea! I want a turn base tactical like that.

SPECIAL THANKS TO GOD HIMSELF?!?!?!

Help I'm stuck on Fire, Flip, Size. I got everything except for the top right star. I understood from the comments that there is a trick with Size to get over walls, but I couldn't figure it out.

Please someone help.

(1 edit)

i can't even get into the top left corner

is there any secrets i'm missing because i can't control my character during the ending but there are those cracks in the ending like is that going to be introduced in a later version or am i missing something
(-1)

Yes.  You basically need to trigger the last step of the home spell as soon as you start the ending sequence.

thanks i wouldn't of thought of trying that without your help

(4 edits)

could someone help me with key flower i can't figure out how to get into the top left i can get flower but i don't know how i can get past that area

edit oh shit i'm a idiot how did i not figure this out sooner like this was literally the last one i couldn't beat and i was so stumped like how the fuck uggggh i'm so stupid

(+1)

i beat the game legitimately through the intended method

that is not the intended metho

i found funny thing and it allows you to beat the game without completing the puzzles

Can I have a hint for fire+key to get into the top half?

do this in order (rot13.com):

(1) sver,(2) FR fgne,(3) xrl,(4) pyvzo jnyy ba J,(5) AJ fgne

If you can't do number 4: lbh zhfg bayl hfr xrl gjvpr, svefg gb cnff tngr va J, frpbaq gb pyvzo jnyy

I thought of all of that, but forgot to use the home spell and that's why I was stuck. Thank you!!

(3 edits)

i can't do number 4 even with the hint

How to get to the hidden credit room? I can't go below from here

Do you mean how to see the beach?  Because this is not how you get to it.

Oh I thought it's through there haha. How to though? 100% trophy?

(+1)

It has to do with the breakable blocks you see at the ending.  You basically need to trigger the last step of the home spell as soon as you start the ending sequence

(1 edit)

How though? For ending you  need to go to left, left alone vertically

Edit: okay, managed to use the home spell, but still no secrets being unlocked - I just go straight down.

(1 edit) (+1)

Can anybody help me with the key and flip one please? The bottom right star

Ok, but only if you help me with the key and fire one. The  top stars

In the end cutscene we see breakable blocks that were at the very beginning of the game but when I tried to go there and break them it didn’t work

Awesome game ! Had to cheese it since it reset at the end while I turned my device off but it is still better than N step Steve to me .

Also I wanna be a programmer in video games but I do not have the skills so maybe tryna teach me or something ?

(+1)

I'm planning on writing some blog posts about game programming soon...

Puzzlescript is definitely my choice for programming simple grid 2d-games. Worth a look if that seems good to you.

How are you meant to get the top left star in Goat, Flip, Flower?
I managed to get the rest of the trophies, but this last one has me quite stuck. Any help is appreciated in completing this wonderful game.

Really cool and creative idea for a puzzle game. So goofy and great just like the n step steve series

Cool game! What was this game made in/with?

(+2)

SDL2 and my C++ engine, mainly.

incredible 🔥

Any hints for Fire, Flip, Size?

I feel like I'm missing a trick to get the top right star, I don't see any way in using Fire and Flip, but maybe I'm missing something using Size?

(+1)

Yep, I was missing a trick with Size😅

WOO I DID IT

(+1)

Beat the game! Totally with skill! Totally!

Huh. This doesn't seem intentional!

(+1)

A perfect phase with very funny puzzles! Sometimes I'm trying to making a combination, and I make the home combination, what slows the proccess, and it sometimes looks annoying, but it's also what makes the game difficult! I loved it!

(+8)

did I clear the level right?

(+3)

yes.

(+1)

neat

(+3)

i also got rid of the crosses

Now get rid of the boxes by recoding the game

(+1)

Similar but using fewer spells... the poor goat got trapped but at least it won't starve.

Wow

H O W

W H Y ?

magic (literally)

I wanted to clear the level

(1 edit)

Is undoing supposed to save trophies/the switch?

They're supposed to persist through undo.

(+4)

Does the player character have a canonical name? If not, I hereby name her Beatrice (Bee for short, of course)!

(+3)

when its week 2 of bee magic and you have no bee magic left to play

(+2)

why does the bee magic wizard get 10 percent brighter when the next move could potentially cast a spell

what are the lore implications of this

You can see the light.

(1 edit)

when its week 3 of bee magic and you are still stuck on key fire

(2 edits) (+1)

Ok I've 100%ed it, I think; all 20 trophies!

Only thing left is that the ending looks awfully suspicious; but I can't figure anything out. Is there a secret in there or does it just really look like it? The spells using the downward move, but it doesn't seem possible to get it to cast anything in the cutscene.

Also what's the deal with the cancel spell? I figure it was probably to prevent people casting bush and flower in the hubworld, but why?

Some of those goat puzzles were INSIDIOUS.

(+2)

well i did manage to destroy the cancel orb with the bush spell and yes the bush spell destroys the hub you can use it to get past trophies

Oh I hadn't even considered trying to get PAST the trophies!

What does cancel even do tho

It resets your spell progress.
