I don't think this is the case. My screen is 2560 pixels wide. I did try testing this on safari and it was as you said. When I changed the size of my browser to be less than 1000px, the game got cut off. This seems to be different on google chrome, which is what I am using. Here is a screenshot.

I realize that this game isn't super new and you may not be reading these comments, but I really love this series and had some questions. What made you decide to make these games free? Are the water tiles and conveyors completely original, or did you draw inspiration from other games? The only thing I can think of is the ice from Undertale, but I can't think of something like the conveyors where you can only be pushed once per move. What language did you make this in? I feel like the system that moves all the objects seems quite hard to implement, especially with the multiple players, multipush, and animations. How long did it take you to make it? I'll admit I tried to create something similar for fun once, and it made me appreciate how airtight this game is in terms of simulating mechanics .
I considered making these games paid releases, but ultimately, web games are just easier and there’s less pressure and expectations.
Conveyors and ice (though “water tile” also works I guess) are things that I consider to be “tropes” in a way because lots of games have them. Baba Is You is a good example.
This is made in C++ and compiled to the web using Emscritpen. This entry took about 1.5 years to make, give or take, but the first two entries only took 6-8 months or so.
The logic and whatnot was sometimes hard to implement, but I’ve had a lot of practice and experience when it comes to programming and game dev, which helps.

Probably! I have another "big" game I plan on releasing next (though it's nowhere near as big as this,) but I'm also working on a very promising prototype for another game in this series.
I believe this as many cryptids as you can get without getting any stars. I'm curious to see if anyone can get any others though. My best guess for any other cryptid is the one in room 9,13 but I can't quite figure out how to get it even using glitches.
Maybe? If I'm not mistaken, you can download the game in the Itch.io app, but that's basically just a local copy of the web version.
Given the fact that so many people have been asking for a true downloadable version of the game, I'll probably get around to it at some point. Also, I'm about 50% sure there will be another "mainline entry" at some point. Not 100% sure, and it's probably going to take a while if it does happen (I keep saying this about all my games, but it's true.)

Good question! Part one and two are meant to be played separately, so combining their maps might actually make things more awkward. They could be separate games in the same package, though, in the same way that e.g. The Ace Attorney trilogy HD (or whatever it’s called) puts three separate games in the same place.
In part 1, if you managed to get into the extra warp point instead of the black hole thingy, a goat pushed you in. Is there any extra easter eggs like that? I have 100%ed this game probably a dozen times and have been speedrunning it but I was just wondering if there was anything I missed
Probably not. I think I was planning on having something similar to that in one of the final rooms, but never got around to it. My excuse for that is the game being way bigger than it should have been.
(Also, I say "probably not" because it's possible that I'm forgetting something, though I'm 99% confident that there's nothing major you're missing, especially if you know the major speedrun skip for this game.)

Simple. Reload the webpage. Make sure cookies is on. That's how I got through rooms easier. You MUST have flags active as respawn points. A cat will spawn on each flag, and revive the dead cats. It is not infinite.
In order to get the following star, I successfully entered this scene with two cats, but it's worthless. A cat was turned to stone at a later time than it was resurrected. Also it seems that there's no place to use these cats, though it's quite hard to get the two cats in this scene.

There's a good chance of this happening in the future. Fun fact: I briefly considered releasing part 2 as part of such a bundle, but I settled on making it a free web game like usual.

Why doesn't this game fit in my browser? It is cut off both vertically and horizontally.
This might be a mac issue, I tried it on a windows computer and it worked fine.
It appears as if Itch cuts things off if your browser window is 1000px wide or less. (Zooming in/out also effects this.)
I don't think this is the case. My screen is 2560 pixels wide. I did try testing this on safari and it was as you said. When I changed the size of my browser to be less than 1000px, the game got cut off. This seems to be different on google chrome, which is what I am using. Here is a screenshot.

I did it!
I realize that this game isn't super new and you may not be reading these comments, but I really love this series and had some questions. What made you decide to make these games free? Are the water tiles and conveyors completely original, or did you draw inspiration from other games? The only thing I can think of is the ice from Undertale, but I can't think of something like the conveyors where you can only be pushed once per move. What language did you make this in? I feel like the system that moves all the objects seems quite hard to implement, especially with the multiple players, multipush, and animations. How long did it take you to make it? I'll admit I tried to create something similar for fun once, and it made me appreciate how airtight this game is in terms of simulating mechanics .

I considered making these games paid releases, but ultimately, web games are just easier and there’s less pressure and expectations.
Conveyors and ice (though “water tile” also works I guess) are things that I consider to be “tropes” in a way because lots of games have them. Baba Is You is a good example.
This is made in C++ and compiled to the web using Emscritpen. This entry took about 1.5 years to make, give or take, but the first two entries only took 6-8 months or so.
The logic and whatnot was sometimes hard to implement, but I’ve had a lot of practice and experience when it comes to programming and game dev, which helps.

Maybe? If I'm not mistaken, you can download the game in the Itch.io app, but that's basically just a local copy of the web version.
Given the fact that so many people have been asking for a true downloadable version of the game, I'll probably get around to it at some point. Also, I'm about 50% sure there will be another "mainline entry" at some point. Not 100% sure, and it's probably going to take a while if it does happen (I keep saying this about all my games, but it's true.)

Do you ever think of combining part 1 & 2 for seamless gameplay?
Good question! Part one and two are meant to be played separately, so combining their maps might actually make things more awkward. They could be separate games in the same package, though, in the same way that e.g. The Ace Attorney trilogy HD (or whatever it’s called) puts three separate games in the same place.

About 80% or so. I have some ideas I'm pretty confident in.
In part 1, if you managed to get into the extra warp point instead of the black hole thingy, a goat pushed you in. Is there any extra easter eggs like that? I have 100%ed this game probably a dozen times and have been speedrunning it but I was just wondering if there was anything I missed
Probably not. I think I was planning on having something similar to that in one of the final rooms, but never got around to it. My excuse for that is the game being way bigger than it should have been.
(Also, I say "probably not" because it's possible that I'm forgetting something, though I'm 99% confident that there's nothing major you're missing, especially if you know the major speedrun skip for this game.)

Simple. Reload the webpage. Make sure cookies is on. That's how I got through rooms easier. You MUST have flags active as respawn points. A cat will spawn on each flag, and revive the dead cats. It is not infinite.

I found an old comment of mine. This is the picture. I don't know how I did it.
So whenever I do this, cats don't spawn on the flags, the dead cats just come to life. Any clue why?
That's the "reload" bug. And cats don't spawn on blue flags (not a glitch).
Hint for 5,15: if a statue turns a cat into a rock while the cat is on a flag, the flag will be removed.

In order to get the following star, I successfully entered this scene with two cats, but it's worthless. A cat was turned to stone at a later time than it was resurrected. Also it seems that there's no place to use these cats, though it's quite hard to get the two cats in this scene.

The game itself has no fullscreen, you can try putting your browser into fullscreen mode.

You should bundle all the Step Steve games and put them on Steam. I would pay just for cloud saving.
There's a good chance of this happening in the future. Fun fact: I briefly considered releasing part 2 as part of such a bundle, but I settled on making it a free web game like usual.

You can actually do this one in an easier way by just using both wormholes instead of using the teleporters.
