I understand. I'm just saying that signs need to be heavily scrutinised. Wormholes can be used to "spell" things. Imagine each as a dot. Placed intently, you can make letters.
I though there was some foreign language characters in a level code in the comments. I put it into Google Translate to no avail. It kinda looks Chinese. I wanted to see what it did since Google Translate thought it wasn't a language. So I pasted it into the level editor to see what it represented. Then, I was warped into many years to the future!
More specifically, the first character (or first two, I don't remember) encodes the version number of the level. Version 1 levels are the only supported ones right now, so trying to load a level with a version greater than 1 gives this error.
To fix the "does not save" problem and make it playable, copy the barrier on the image previous post, and then play(do not go back to editor, or you will have to copy again)

Thanks for reporting! Fun fact, the barriers were saving properly, but getting deleted when loading the level because I didn't completely remove the "delete barriers next to walls on level load" functionality (even though I thought I did.)

My best 100% pb time is 35:56. I think sub 30 min might be possible but probably not by much. Curious to see if others have speedran this and what their times are :)
Did you see the signs that talked about "terraforming"? They're a hint. If you're not sure what to do with that, also think about 11,17, which I can tell from your current progress you've beaten in all possible ways, so something there might help once you figure out why the signs were important.
Question: in 12,16 why does wormhole+worhole go to the same place as wormhole+tele? was it unintentional that i was able to do the wormhole+tele or something? they would usualy go to 2 different places no?
When you double teleport, you go 5 rooms up and then into the same place relative to the top and left border of the room. To answer your question, since they're in the same room, "5 rooms up" is the same.
I was going to link you to the discussion of the starting point for that (11,20), but I can't find it myself right now - this is a very active comment section.
So, since I don't know quite what part you're stuck on, obviously the first bit is that the starting point to get to 11,21 is 11,20. There's an exit from there that you can't reach normally.
If you've opened the wormhole at 11,15, then you probably already know how to reach that extra exit, and forgot the exit was there when trying to figure out 11,21.
If you haven't done that yet, then your hint is that the splitters aren't just part of a rock-pushing puzzle.
Okay I just found out the solution because during the countless amount of time trying the puzzle, I thought I needed to get the extra cat from the last chamber and not the second to last.
And the discussion about 11,20 must have been deleted because not one time in the comments was 11,20 mentioned, trust me, I looked.
That's unfortunate it was deleted - it actually had the step-by-step buried a few replies in. But glad you figured it out. The pointer about using the second last splitter chamber would have been the next tip if I knew how far you'd gotten - didn't want to give away too much too fast. That tripped me up for a long time too. I spent way too much time trying to copy the cat in the last part as well, only to eventually notice the other flag had one more move.
Won't be the last time you'll be stuck for ages and suddenly realize the solution that's only obvious in hindsight. Pretty sure Ethan could take over the world if he weren't busy making puzzle games. 🤣
I got to the Farold Roberts and Atzlar room but the cryptid isn't there?!? Seems like a bug because the cryptid is missing. I got there via walkthrough which is how I know what I'm missing. I just unlocked the room. Never been there before. Help?!?
This is my best guess (please confirm @epicpikaguy)
The game is trying to make a flag with greater than 9 steps. Since the game won't let you have more than 9 steps, it freaks out and gives you a negative number corresponding to the positive number. (which is why if you continue far enough, the step counter will be -65525, *blank*, 9, 8, and so on.) Next, the game tries to make an image on the flag for the number. Since it can't find a dot image, it searches in the game image database and finds another image, which it places on the flag. I still have no idea why the game is trying to make a higher than 9 step flag. (For confirmation help, the "wormhole" flag gives 24 steps.)
I want to see that explanation, but I also want to know if it's possible to manipulate specific flags to spawn. I have photo documentation of at least two dozen glitch flags, but don't know if I can get them "back".
Actually, I think the mechanism at the beginning is causing flags to move without adding to the undo stack. Then when undoing the values for other objects become flags, and you get a bunch of garbage data.
Your synopsis seems to be more or less correct, from what I can gather. Here's a relevant comment in the game's code (encoded in rot13): "[n fgrc pbhagre inyhr gung vf] terngre guna 10 zrnaf vg ercerfragf (inyhr-0kssss-1) fgrcf (juvpu raqf hc orvat artngvir.)"
(The game's codebase is so large that I keep having to re-remember how certain parts work, which is why comments like these come in handy.)
As for the images on the flags (I'm simplifying here but it's basically correct): the game stores image indices in a giant list, and the flag "pip" images are stored together. E.G. there's an image for one dot, followed by an image of two dots, and so on. Normal flags don't have values greater than 9, but when glitch flags do, they try to access e.g. the 20th dot image, which ends up being a different image entirely since the indices are stored next to each other.

Fun fact: the game has a "static analyzer" that marks objects which are guaranteed to not move or change, which lets the game make undo states use less memory. I do wonder if that was a good decision, though, since it often caused bugs (like this one) and doesn't save a whole lot of memory overall.
I do think this is funny, and I found many similar bugs over the course of development. Part of me wants to keep this behavior when "enable old bugs" is turned on, but:
This causes some potentially dangerous behavior with reading/writing out of bounds (My development builds of the game check for Out Of Bounds reading on many arrays, and this bug causes OOB reads, which are concerning.)
I could change the code so this bug behaves in a safe way, but I'm thinking that might be a lot of work.
I could add in those "weird flags" in a safer way in the future. Possibly.
I'll upload a patch that fixes this (and improves/fixes some other things as well) some time in the near future.
Hm... I honestly don't know if it would be worth it to go back into the codebase and spend time making all the changes needed to selectively re-enable old behavior. I'd recommend ownloading the game files and corrupting them if you want glitchy behavior.
Finally at 100 % here, and I just want to extend my warmest compliments and gratitude to the developer for an incredible game. This game has been so much fun - incredibly difficult at times, but you always twist your mind and learn something new about how to exploit the tiny details of the game mechanics. In the beginning, it felt like the game almost started with the difficulty level of the most difficult stars in part 1, but slowly and steadily you get used to how hard it is and just start loving the fact that there is no portion of the game you just fly through at the beginning - at least not for me.
Just a series of beautiful puzzles, and really impressive how so many puzzles are placed within each other as well - I loved how there was almost an infinite amount of fun things to do with the cats, cryptids and stars. I'm sorry that this was the conclusion to the saga, I would have been interested to pitch in to keep the series going!

While I've already unlocked the cryptid door there's obviously more out there; I assume I'll need to double tp in these rooms and have no clue how: 7,16; 6,18 (...well, I have some ideas, but the execution looks like it'll be hell); 18,17 (apparently you can't do this the obvious way to bring two in from below because of the differing amounts of ice); 13,8
For 14,19 rocks collide with flags and stars, so push the star out.
For 11,18 push a dead cat down.
For 7,21 use the rocket/finale mechanic to your advantage. and push a dead cat up.
For 7,16 cryptid push a flag with a rock to revive the second cat.
For 6,18 I assume you already have the room above? If you do, make a loop at the bottom right by pushing the rock down. You'll also need a dead cat on a wormhole.
For 13,8 the game always takes the higher number of steps, so you can save on a 0-flag without dying.
11,12 is still hard. The reason I had no ideas is because I forgot about how execution order works, so I wasn't even sure how to get to the other side. Once I got that part it just got to the fact that this puzzle is kind of difficult.
11,18 That was the obvious part. I ended up messing around until I somehow managed to have two alive cats in different columns, after which it was easy.
7,21 I did try going to the upward transition above the 0 flag to see if it'd help, but didn't see any way it'd be possible to actually get there.
6,18 I always forget about dead cats. That makes this pretty easy.
13,8 The specific part I'm struggling on is that part with the three flags and three rocks that makes a wall that you can't pass. The obvious solution would be to run forwards through the room first, but then there's an obstacle after that point that you can't pass without a zero flag, and at that point you haven't revived the second cat yet.
(also the 18,17 in the original post was a typo, meant 8)
For 8,17 you do come in the way you think is obvious. You are right that you need the same amount of ice between the cats and the exits. That level contains everything you need to make that happen (except for one spare cat you'll have to bring with you - I don't think you have enough range of motion otherwise, at least I never found a way without it).
For 13,8, you're actually on the right track when you realized that you can't get past the wall. If you push the only rock you can push, it blocks the hallway. But you do have to get on the other side of the rock. So if you can't pass the rock, the rock has to pass you. You're going to spend a lot of time carefully moving the revived cat around. MetaMetaPuzzle gave you the key here, although to restate - a 0-flag doesn't have to kill you.
In 7,21, to restate again, a 0-flag doesn't have to kill you. As discussed somewhere below, there is no way to send two cats to the left side and then revive them, so you'll have to use "something else" to push a dead cat.
You can also get to 11,12 by double-teleporting. It won't help with the star, but it gets a cryptid.

I understand. I'm just saying that signs need to be heavily scrutinised. Wormholes can be used to "spell" things. Imagine each as a dot. Placed intently, you can make letters.

I though there was some foreign language characters in a level code in the comments. I put it into Google Translate to no avail. It kinda looks Chinese. I wanted to see what it did since Google Translate thought it wasn't a language. So I pasted it into the level editor to see what it represented. Then, I was warped into many years to the future!
It's just the error message when what you paste in is not a valid level.
More specifically, the first character (or first two, I don't remember) encodes the version number of the level. Version 1 levels are the only supported ones right now, so trying to load a level with a version greater than 1 gives this error.
It was the characters from the centre though. Looks Chinese.

To fix the "does not save" problem and make it playable, copy the barrier on the image previous post, and then play(do not go back to editor, or you will have to copy again)

Thanks for reporting! Fun fact, the barriers were saving properly, but getting deleted when loading the level because I didn't completely remove the "delete barriers next to walls on level load" functionality (even though I thought I did.)

They fixed the bug! so i can finally use that to make level!
My best 100% pb time is 35:56. I think sub 30 min might be possible but probably not by much. Curious to see if others have speedran this and what their times are :)

Did you see the signs that talked about "terraforming"? They're a hint. If you're not sure what to do with that, also think about 11,17, which I can tell from your current progress you've beaten in all possible ways, so something there might help once you figure out why the signs were important.

Question: in 12,16 why does wormhole+worhole go to the same place as wormhole+tele? was it unintentional that i was able to do the wormhole+tele or something? they would usualy go to 2 different places no?
When you double teleport, you go 5 rooms up and then into the same place relative to the top and left border of the room. To answer your question, since they're in the same room, "5 rooms up" is the same.

I was going to link you to the discussion of the starting point for that (11,20), but I can't find it myself right now - this is a very active comment section.
So, since I don't know quite what part you're stuck on, obviously the first bit is that the starting point to get to 11,21 is 11,20. There's an exit from there that you can't reach normally.
If you've opened the wormhole at 11,15, then you probably already know how to reach that extra exit, and forgot the exit was there when trying to figure out 11,21.
If you haven't done that yet, then your hint is that the splitters aren't just part of a rock-pushing puzzle.
Okay I just found out the solution because during the countless amount of time trying the puzzle, I thought I needed to get the extra cat from the last chamber and not the second to last.
And the discussion about 11,20 must have been deleted because not one time in the comments was 11,20 mentioned, trust me, I looked.
That's unfortunate it was deleted - it actually had the step-by-step buried a few replies in. But glad you figured it out. The pointer about using the second last splitter chamber would have been the next tip if I knew how far you'd gotten - didn't want to give away too much too fast. That tripped me up for a long time too. I spent way too much time trying to copy the cat in the last part as well, only to eventually notice the other flag had one more move.
Won't be the last time you'll be stuck for ages and suddenly realize the solution that's only obvious in hindsight. Pretty sure Ethan could take over the world if he weren't busy making puzzle games. 🤣

The bug may have been fixed by now. Doing things, then undoing, then doing more things, etc, would use random data to create unconventional flags

This is my best guess (please confirm @epicpikaguy)
The game is trying to make a flag with greater than 9 steps. Since the game won't let you have more than 9 steps, it freaks out and gives you a negative number corresponding to the positive number. (which is why if you continue far enough, the step counter will be -65525, *blank*, 9, 8, and so on.) Next, the game tries to make an image on the flag for the number. Since it can't find a dot image, it searches in the game image database and finds another image, which it places on the flag. I still have no idea why the game is trying to make a higher than 9 step flag. (For confirmation help, the "wormhole" flag gives 24 steps.)
I want to see that explanation, but I also want to know if it's possible to manipulate specific flags to spawn. I have photo documentation of at least two dozen glitch flags, but don't know if I can get them "back".
Actually, I think the mechanism at the beginning is causing flags to move without adding to the undo stack. Then when undoing the values for other objects become flags, and you get a bunch of garbage data.
Your synopsis seems to be more or less correct, from what I can gather. Here's a relevant comment in the game's code (encoded in rot13): "[n fgrc pbhagre inyhr gung vf] terngre guna 10 zrnaf vg ercerfragf (inyhr-0kssss-1) fgrcf (juvpu raqf hc orvat artngvir.)"
(The game's codebase is so large that I keep having to re-remember how certain parts work, which is why comments like these come in handy.)
As for the images on the flags (I'm simplifying here but it's basically correct): the game stores image indices in a giant list, and the flag "pip" images are stored together. E.G. there's an image for one dot, followed by an image of two dots, and so on. Normal flags don't have values greater than 9, but when glitch flags do, they try to access e.g. the 20th dot image, which ends up being a different image entirely since the indices are stored next to each other.
update: magical mystical flags exist and I even touched one of them!

Fun fact: the game has a "static analyzer" that marks objects which are guaranteed to not move or change, which lets the game make undo states use less memory. I do wonder if that was a good decision, though, since it often caused bugs (like this one) and doesn't save a whole lot of memory overall.
I do think this is funny, and I found many similar bugs over the course of development. Part of me wants to keep this behavior when "enable old bugs" is turned on, but:

Hm... I honestly don't know if it would be worth it to go back into the codebase and spend time making all the changes needed to selectively re-enable old behavior. I'd recommend ownloading the game files and corrupting them if you want glitchy behavior.

Finally at 100 % here, and I just want to extend my warmest compliments and gratitude to the developer for an incredible game. This game has been so much fun - incredibly difficult at times, but you always twist your mind and learn something new about how to exploit the tiny details of the game mechanics. In the beginning, it felt like the game almost started with the difficulty level of the most difficult stars in part 1, but slowly and steadily you get used to how hard it is and just start loving the fact that there is no portion of the game you just fly through at the beginning - at least not for me.
Just a series of beautiful puzzles, and really impressive how so many puzzles are placed within each other as well - I loved how there was almost an infinite amount of fun things to do with the cats, cryptids and stars. I'm sorry that this was the conclusion to the saga, I would have been interested to pitch in to keep the series going!

While I've already unlocked the cryptid door there's obviously more out there; I assume I'll need to double tp in these rooms and have no clue how: 7,16; 6,18 (...well, I have some ideas, but the execution looks like it'll be hell); 18,17 (apparently you can't do this the obvious way to bring two in from below because of the differing amounts of ice); 13,8
Definite spoilers below:
For 14,17 push a dead cat down from above.

For 14,19 rocks collide with flags and stars, so push the star out.
For 11,18 push a dead cat down.
For 7,21 use the rocket/finale mechanic to your advantage. and push a dead cat up.
For 7,16 cryptid push a flag with a rock to revive the second cat.
For 6,18 I assume you already have the room above? If you do, make a loop at the bottom right by pushing the rock down. You'll also need a dead cat on a wormhole.
For 13,8 the game always takes the higher number of steps, so you can save on a 0-flag without dying.

11,12 is still hard. The reason I had no ideas is because I forgot about how execution order works, so I wasn't even sure how to get to the other side. Once I got that part it just got to the fact that this puzzle is kind of difficult.
11,18 That was the obvious part. I ended up messing around until I somehow managed to have two alive cats in different columns, after which it was easy.
7,21 I did try going to the upward transition above the 0 flag to see if it'd help, but didn't see any way it'd be possible to actually get there.
6,18 I always forget about dead cats. That makes this pretty easy.
13,8 The specific part I'm struggling on is that part with the three flags and three rocks that makes a wall that you can't pass. The obvious solution would be to run forwards through the room first, but then there's an obstacle after that point that you can't pass without a zero flag, and at that point you haven't revived the second cat yet.
(also the 18,17 in the original post was a typo, meant 8)
For 8,17 you do come in the way you think is obvious. You are right that you need the same amount of ice between the cats and the exits. That level contains everything you need to make that happen (except for one spare cat you'll have to bring with you - I don't think you have enough range of motion otherwise, at least I never found a way without it).
For 13,8, you're actually on the right track when you realized that you can't get past the wall. If you push the only rock you can push, it blocks the hallway. But you do have to get on the other side of the rock. So if you can't pass the rock, the rock has to pass you. You're going to spend a lot of time carefully moving the revived cat around. MetaMetaPuzzle gave you the key here, although to restate - a 0-flag doesn't have to kill you.
In 7,21, to restate again, a 0-flag doesn't have to kill you. As discussed somewhere below, there is no way to send two cats to the left side and then revive them, so you'll have to use "something else" to push a dead cat.
You can also get to 11,12 by double-teleporting. It won't help with the star, but it gets a cryptid.
